To the declaration as a National Monument of the Universidad de Oriente in March 2021, the festivities for the 75th Anniversary of its foundation are added. A group of historians, architects and specialists from various technical areas compiled studies, photographs, plans and other archive materials; They evaluated the associated cultural assets and carried out a technical-construction characterization of various properties and spaces to prepare the file sent to the National Monuments Commission. A summary of that document is collected in this book with a volume of images that are appreciated for their high historical and heritage value.
This university, mother of a large part of the Higher Education institutions in the east of the Island, is committed to the rescue of its history, culture and values, a path to continue in the formation of comprehensive young people from Cuba and abroad. May this be a well-deserved recognition of the long mambisa tradition, of its martyrs, students, professors, workers and graduates.
