Synopsis

This work offers a list of words produced by ninth grade students from Santiago de Cuba that reflects both their lexical competence and their most common spelling errors. Each section of the dictionary (lexical or orthographic) organizes the list in descending order of frequency, which allows to know which are the most used forms, and in alphabetical order, which allows a quick location in the list. This Frequency Dictionary, the result of exhaustive lexical-statistical research, constitutes a valuable working tool for teachers and professors as well as for specialists in social and humanistic sciences, especially linguists, sociologists and psychologists.
